and do downward dogs with our kids
if it thwarts the train of greed
till knees buckle
and mirrors reveal deformed ways

if it forces a quiet
silencing squeaky wheels
and halting scurry

if it forces humilities not felt since a toddler
when earth and sky were larger
and we learn
that the flesh we inhabit
is as fresh or foul
as the milk of our hood
that all nucleotides are cousins
whether black, brown, or white
and all the bleach in the world
is washed away when tsunami’s have their way

that there is a fucking moon spinning in our sky!

the force of a double helix
can crumble a Rome
and dismantle the pillar of cards
of charlatans and pickpockets
to fall beautifully
upon a silent ground

then i am all for
