Gone
She lies motionless in her dingy chair,
With a frozen face and an empty stare.
The smell of dog piss fills the air,
All the while she sits without a care.
I call her name, but no one’s home,
She’s somewhere in the twilight zone,
And so I write to her this poem;
Because the mom I had is gone.
With a frozen face and an empty stare.
The smell of dog piss fills the air,
All the while she sits without a care.
I call her name, but no one’s home,
She’s somewhere in the twilight zone,
And so I write to her this poem;
Because the mom I had is gone.

This had me thinking about my conversation with my Sister about our Mom and us watching her deteriorate
little by little each day (our Mom is gonna be 86 this year).
For me, though, because i live within each day mindfully, each visit with her is ALSO NEW TO ME. My Sister argues and stresses and one of these days when my younger Sis is receptive to my Tao, i will ease her emotional pain and share.
i am thinking this is not about aging and dementia but
it could be, right?
either way,
super spill

Powerful, haunting, bittersweet, tragic...nothing quite does this life experience justice. I do hope it brought catharsis and some closure.♥️

Heartbreaking and unfair.
I sympathize.
Held to the flames of pain:
Let your resilience be as a blacksmith foraging and drawing out a sword, let this mold and shape you into something stronger.
Let it your heart not be as easily shattered as blown glass.
Let your spirit burn and ignite with the embers.
And when you look back, let it be in peace.
I sympathize.

I have been thinking about what happened to her.
This is a very special one. I am deeply moved.
