Dear M,
You have captured the feeling of insomnia quite brilliantly. All the ways the mind won’t shut off so sleep can do its healing thing. Exhaustion just feeds into fear creating that wretched cycle. Well penned for a frustrating situation. H🌷

I pray when retiring claiming the words of a Psalm, that God gives sleep to those he loves (in the King James Bible it is rendered 'He giveth his beloved sleep' - a phrase sometimes seen on gravestones which I think misleads readers into thinking it's about death). Always I have woken up from sleep next morning, however few the hours. This might be an idea to try.

Re. Afraid To Sleep
You to have someone you care for by your side while you go in and face your nightmares head on to find the meaning behind them. Keep on writing.
