Forwards
The Highway
A blue fire bird
The stench of gasoline
Vaporwave
A dirty ashtray
And the open road
Nothing
Isolation rather--- Desolation
The mechanisms--- the gears
Turning
Engine and tires burning
Hot tar melting spinning rubber
Wind being cut through
With nothing to crash into
Sleep
L ess nights--- long hours
Time passing
Washed over
Blending together
Distance traveled
Unknown
Veer left
into the sea-- if you don't drown you’ll still run out of gas.
Veer right up a mountain-- if you don't fall off you'll still freeze to death
Stay where you are?
And you won't go anywhere.
You cannot go back
All you can do is drive
Forwards.
