There is a story to be told

There is a story to be told
of one young girl,
whose life did mold-
and shape and shift till it reflected
what her peers and parents expected.

She knows her life is constantly scored:
"Well this is an 8, but that is a 4-
You must improve dear,
or else be ashamed of the
stuck-in-a-rut life you've obtained".
Marriage, money, and education
are sole aspects factored in when
life is scored for its success.

There is a lesson to be learned
from the judging of her time.
Not always will the jury find
success coexisting with happiness.
