Left the Gate Wide Open
This old road sings its own song
Rusting out memories that don’t belong
Kicking up dust, so I can get gone
Left the gate wide open, just a little too long
Chased a dream on to Castlebar
Made a wish into skies absent of stars
Gave you my best and still left you with scars
Left the gate wide open with keys in the car
All the signs point the wrong way
Lost on a road worn by decay
Maybe tomorrow, for sure not today
Leave the gate wide open, for this much I pray
This old road won’t sing anymore
Gone is the tune I use to explore
Gone is the need to live with a roar
Left the gate wide open, no mas NO MORE
Rusting out memories that don’t belong
Kicking up dust, so I can get gone
Left the gate wide open, just a little too long
Chased a dream on to Castlebar
Made a wish into skies absent of stars
Gave you my best and still left you with scars
Left the gate wide open with keys in the car
All the signs point the wrong way
Lost on a road worn by decay
Maybe tomorrow, for sure not today
Leave the gate wide open, for this much I pray
This old road won’t sing anymore
Gone is the tune I use to explore
Gone is the need to live with a roar
Left the gate wide open, no mas NO MORE
