The Night Had Just Begun
00:00am - 00:20am:
I start a po’em that’s just come
Distant sirens passing, fading
Now gone, thick silence like fog creeps
00:20am - 00:45am:
First stanza done , half of second
Full stop, nothing happens until
Neighbor’s 2-year-old’s night terrors
00:45am - 01:00am:
White noise in the air fills my head
High pitch is rising in left ear
Becomes aware of a presence
01:00am - 01:15am
I look away from my journal
Towards the far corner of the room
Is that a person, nothing’s there
01:15am - . . . . . . . .
Suddenly Mom was everywhere
In surround-sound without a trace
But nothing swirling in the room
I spoke to her within my mind
Her voice was from the Poltergeist
The little girl within a wall
The ghosting in & out of time
I could not comprehend her words
Which did not bother me at all
I thought she’d be hungry and so
I said there was food in the ‘fridge
A poltergeist voice meme’d her thanks
She started to go, I startled
I said with my voice ‘I love you!’
I think she’s still in the kitchen
01:15am - . . . . . . . .
First stanza done , half of second
Full stop, nothing happens until
Neighbor’s 2-year-old’s night terrors
