Sleep Little Angel
You would be seven now .
I imagined you'd look like me
with a little of your dad maybe.
I still remember your little toes
and that cute button nose.
Every day feels like yesterday,
time has swept no pain away.
How special you were
in your own tiny way.
The emptiness consumes me,
Nothing fills the void,
of having everything going for you
then suddenly its destroyed.
Heart beating
so fast
so loud
deafening
i'm awake now,
why am I still dreaming?
you are no longer here,
life had no meaning.
I often think about that time
when i felt for you and couldn't feel you.
I looked into my husband's eyes,
that was when I knew,
you were just too perfect for this world,
and God wanted you
So I've cherished the memory of that minute of holding you.
I imagined you'd look like me
with a little of your dad maybe.
I still remember your little toes
and that cute button nose.
Every day feels like yesterday,
time has swept no pain away.
How special you were
in your own tiny way.
The emptiness consumes me,
Nothing fills the void,
of having everything going for you
then suddenly its destroyed.
Heart beating
so fast
so loud
deafening
i'm awake now,
why am I still dreaming?
you are no longer here,
life had no meaning.
I often think about that time
when i felt for you and couldn't feel you.
I looked into my husband's eyes,
that was when I knew,
you were just too perfect for this world,
and God wanted you
So I've cherished the memory of that minute of holding you.
