Not Wrong But Strong
Why does society try to define us
Why do we let it confine us
mentally,
To the things they classify as the norm
and if we go against it we're wrong?
No more of this backward
mental slave thing,
1865 abolished slavery.
We rise and take charge of our lives
and our minds
We don't just survive
We thrive
Its the reason we're alive
Our freedom is the legacy to our
Great and our Grans
When we leave this life
it's them who take over this land
Teach them its okay to have their own plan
Its okay to be different
Its okay to take a stand.

There is authority in your voice, rhythmic flow to your spill, I could hear this on a Poet Slam competition floor and see you doing well, engaging the audience with the palpable emotion.
