ANTithesis2

i
such is the plight
of little warriors
who are the carriers
of the burden
of the world
by day’s swift light
they leverage all the strength
that comes to them at length
to make hay from
the sun’s gold

ii
industrious
beyond the call of size
to every task they rise
every morning
lives to save
oblivious
to labour and fatigue
they join the major league
never flinching
ever brave

iii
at harvest-time
they store their food away
to save a rainy day
when the famine
hits the land
though clandestine
the wisdom of the ant
he will no pledge recant
that preserves his
clique and clan

iv
antithesis
the plight of common man
whose reason hath no plan
when by crises
he is hurled
life’s synthesis
does not with dreamers bide
who come but for the ride
while the hungry
feeds the world
