Sabbath is KEY
The Sabbath is KEY:
if God wanted to hint to us that the 6 day Creation Week is NOT a literal week,
one way to do it would be to change or discredit the old Sabbath which is the capstone or crown of that Creation Week !!
And THAT is just what God -- in the person of Christ -- does !!
He changes the Sabbath, shifts it to SUNDAY !!
So the implication is that the Christian view of Creation Week is to be DIFFERENT from the old Jewish view.
Plus Paul the apostle changes the "days" of Creation Week into EONS - "aionos" in the Greek.
See Hebrews 11.3. Where it says "worlds" in the KJV, it actually says "aionos" in the Greek.
And aionos is where we get the English word "eons" from. "Aionos" MEANS eons.
So Hebrews 11.3 should read like this:
"By faith we understand that the EONS were framed by the word of God.."
(And there are THREE versions of the Bible that present it like that !!)
Paul here is talking about the creation of the universe.
Which means he's interpreting the Creation Week in Genesis 1.
The fact that Paul feels free to take the "days" of Creation Week as eons allows us to ALSO take them that way.
That's part of what it means to be free from the "bondage" of the Law of Moses (Galatians 5.1, 18).
