Dysfunctional Love; Roses and Russian Olive Trees

We go round for round
Grinding each other into the ground
We're stuck in tit for tat
You did this so I did that
Over and over, Back and back
If we're not fucking we're under attack
If we were in person we'd have killed each other
God knows there's always another
You lie to my face saying I'm the only one
You're a liar and burn as bright as the sun
I'm the type to jump off a cliff holding your hand
But admit we have problems? Who'd understand?
For we will always be fire on fire
Living and dying for our desire
Some nights I dream I would kill for you
But you're the one holding the gun, it's true
Fire and flame, hands and sticks
I try to leave, but I fall for your trick
You try to leave and I tighten my grip real quick
People should know I'm just as bad as you
Can't you see, my love, we should be through?
Over and over, back to back, our love has no tack
We just aren't good, but I keep coming back
It is love if I beg myself to walk away?
Is it love if we both stray?
You and the world should know I'm going insane
Trapped in our vibrant desire and pain
You're a huge vibrant rose bush wrapped around me
And I am nothing, but a Russian olive tree
Our thorns stab into each other's skin
But there's no other pain I'd rather be in
We're killing each other ever so slowly
But the love I have for you is boarding sacrilege and what is holy
I wish it would be over, but we won't let it die
But today... I'm going to tell the truth and forget how to lie
We are toxic love, our thorns are killing us
There's a ticket for a bus
It has my name on it
And there's an escape valve and I'm hitting it
I'm jumping on that bus and leaving
Our thorny bond I'm cleaving
I have to be free, though I love you
I'm putting an end to us, we're through
