Best at making things worse

We've been bastards to each other
for far too long,
to this day not all of us are able to
 get along even after every love song
that's been written in hopes of connecting each creature
 in the most conscious of ways.

Still some can't understand that if
what they wanna say or do
 has the potential to
ruin someones day or life and is likely to
 leave someone feeling so low
they might as well keep quiet,
keep it to themselves and
try to imagine how it would
make them feel if someone else did that
to them.

From what I've seen and heard and read about people doing to each other,
I'm convinced evil is real and it's us,
 it's in the terrible things
 we've done to each other
  for no real reason
   no practical purpose
    no man-made meaning
     other than to just feel in control,
     to feel powerful for using and abusing
  some innocent, soon to be broken soul
          who never did anything to anyone
                 but they're made to feel as if
           it's their fault, as if they deserve whatever awful things happen to them
over and over again.

Not all of us are like this,
most of us have a heart and know what should or shouldn't be done,
most of us know what's right
and what's wrong
but there has always been
a small selection of us
who seem to not care
and don't have the ability to,
who seem to not share the same general understanding of what's fucked up
and those are the ones who
 purposely push people past their limits,
or intentionally attempt to steal someones innocence
(probably because they themselves
have experienced things no being
should ever have to,
at the hands of another broken spirit)
in some cases leaving them unable to
fully function throughout this life,
 unable to love or feel loved
 all because something or someone shattered them right from the start
and that shit breaks my heart.
