her skin smooth

sun danced among
her branches
leaves no longer offering shade

roots thick
covered the ground
running in every direction
offering many places
for sure feet


she gazed upwards
following the gracefulness
of every
branch

she could not resist
the spirit of such beauty
climbing up to rest
her cheek
against the tree
that called to her
for a hug
