blowing smoke rings in infinity
I'm carving time from ashes
from nothing but smoke
it appears as an emptiness on the horizon
waiting to be captured then bent
the void is endless
minutes become eons
eons become eternity
a neverending blank
tiring is the task of filling that hunger,
the ravaging need of space
it is greedy, swallowing all around it
a black hole, violent and unstable
is its true nature
creation is a sedative
let the blue skies testify
to the grace of God
carefully carving more time for love
in an infinite loop of destruction and truth
evolving patience from nothing

creation is a sedative

I had to come back and reread this several times to fully feel the essence of it. In the earliest of times, order has been born from chaos - the big bang, messy births, and yet life emerges beautifully.
Wonderful poem, Brenda.

Dear B,
“carefully carving more time for love ”
Why isn’t this a mantra and part of school curriculum? This is an incredibly thought provoking piece. It comes at a rather interesting juncture in my own world and has offered some solace for me today. I thank you for that. H🌷

I'm putting this poem way up high Brenda...a more spiritual piece I have not read for a long time...the yin><yang of life...the endless beautiful existential circle of nature...good>bad>good>bad>love>hate>love>and on it goes. Bravo!!!

I agree with Harry. Was drawn in by the title, and the whole has a kind of zen clarity and magnification to me. Great work!

A write takes on it's own life and is always different in the unique perspective of others. <3
