Scared to breathe
As an inaudible ache
Is kept inside
Vaporise my fears
So these feelings
Can be released
Just a disaster
Around her
Everything falls apart
My heart beats faster
Mind shuts down
Words stumble
Out of my depth
Treading water
Just gazing at her beauty

Nicely penned expression of what I feel that many can relate to. I know that I have certainly been there. Excellent write.

This has happened to me several times in a college class or 2 -----
My major was Child Development and in most of the courses there would only be one (sometimes 2) males
and lots of Gorgeous young coeds.
But all one can do is as You say, Tread Water, when in class.
& worse if one is an introvert.
