I can still remember like it was yesterday,
It was a rainy Sunday morning when you arrived,
I recall being nervous about it all and yet,
When I held you I was completely mesmerized.
Happy birthday son I love you and wish you the best,
May God bless you and keep you every single day,
Follow your heart and you will find your path,
I feel lucky to have been your dad, so I must say…
In between those years of laughter and tears,
I still feel that sense of overwhelming joy,
Watching you grow up to be your own person,
You may have turned eighteen
but you’re still my baby boy.
