Teenager to Dad

So tough, but yet so soft.
A father so young, he wasn't taught.
How to love a child not directly from him.
A son by heart, but always still his kid.

In and out of jail he fought for his family.
Charges after charges and even some felonies.
He did what he had to keep up with the bills.
He wasn't just out searching for some thrills.

Ten plus years and four kids later.
He couldn't think of anything better.
A Dad and Husband, his job is never done.
Wearing himself down working even in the sun.

Trying his best to stay out of trouble.
Growing a family, now it's doubled.
Letting her family call him son, uncle, and even brother.
Treating them all as if he doesn't already have another.
