Ventured but nothing gained

I waited too long to hear your response...
You never did answer me,
and in those moments your silence said more than your words ever did.

I get it now.

It was like the whole time that Ive known you I've been treding in the ocean of all the words you've never said.
I thought you were quiet, but you just had nothing to say.

You and me,
no we are not the same,
not even close.

You are an ivory tower I can never climb.
In all your beautiful exterior Ive never once made it past your gates.

I'm a commoner before a king.
You've had your guard holding me back from the beginning.

So, where do I go from here?
 That question....
It feels so odd in my mouth.
I always thought it would be "Where do WE go from here?"

I've been so blind,
captivated by everytime you said
 those
three
 words.

Kept in place by every caress,
and tethered by your placid face.

I waited too long,
and
 you
never
said
a
word...
