Memory Poem

I was asked to write a poem,
About one of my memories.
I took a bit to think about it,
But none of them stood out to me.
So I’m writing a poem,
For all the times
That I,  just can’t
Recall.
All my memories
Sway, swoop, and swirl
Through my head.
Some days,
they’re vibrant
And alive!
Other days,
it feels like they’re dead.
The days I do remember them
I feel like they have emotions
of their very own.
Like they need to be heard,
They call my name.
The other days though,
They curl in a creepy corner
Like a black cat,
Waiting,
to pounce
I try to remember,
But I just can’t
get an ounce.
My mind,
It’s so weird.
The memories,
Stay hidden
Like
they’re feared.
My thoughts,
Spin like a top.
Round,
And round
They go.
Then they’re gone.
One second they’re here.
Then,
Poof!
They disappear.
Like a fairy
cast a spell,
I can’t find them.
Oh, well.
I was asked to write a poem,
About one of my memories.
I thought I could remember.
But I guess,
I forgot.
