As if choreographed with great
purpose by higher powers
it can hypnotize you
yet so spectacularly spastic
the flame of a candle is
Should come as no surprise---
houses, neighborhoods
entire towns have been
destroyed due to a single
person's lack of self control
What's been built up for decades
---easily reduced to ash within hours

some people are firestarters, others more measured and cautious—able to burn the candle at both ends without burning down a town
to be honest, this put me straight in mind of trump pulling troops out of syria, allowing turkey to start decimating the kurds, people who died by the thousands working with america to battle isis... someone high up someplace said trump's actions have undone decades of hard work virtually overnight
