In Her Mind a Maggot Wriggles
Between a dream and a nightmare
she was caught, a subconscious web
made up of worry and thought.
The whispering fly buzzed in and out
filling her head with panic and doubt.
Her racing heart completely besieged
she is taken ahold by anxiety.
Always looming, always hovering
always in her mind, always suffering.

Yes, that is exactly it, the damn anxiety and panic, the nagging that doesn't keep us rest..you described it so well.
I've been dealing with work related stress that has been esclating more and more for 2 months now and i've been 'sick' every single day, hating every minute of it, and this poem describes it so well..my god Nik you can articulate the feeling so well.

Thank you. I hate it. I fight it and sometimes I just say fuck it and go to sleep. It can be overwhelming.

This feeling instantly puts me to sleep...it is the only way I've ever dealt with such stress...it's odd because the crash is almost instant after the anxiety ...Negativity/worry has such a powerful grip when it hits...little punches are ok...but when it digs deep...instant bed.

My go to response to anything stressful is I need a nap. It is amazing how much energy is consumed by anxiety. Me and my bed are best friends. Plus i got blackout curtains talk about not knowing if its day or nighy lol

This is a damn good poem, Nikki. it literally dances off the tongue when read aloud. Anxiety appears to be a fidgety fly just seeking a place to plant an egg!
I know you like critique; however, there is honestly nothing I can offer on this except perhaps lose the second a in line 1. Although that in and of itself is not necessary at all!
