Ashes

I laid her down at Abbotsford
Where a tranquil river flows
Where once she loved to walk a path...
You'll come across a trampled rose.
Why now , this sorrow in my heart?
This clawing pain beneath my breast
Why now, this torture of my soul
When all that was...I lay to rest?
