nature whispered
the Earth called to me
mortal child don't forget your immortality,
your soul's destiny
manifested in the flesh
to learn your weaknesses, your strengths
as I walk the forested paths
I could hear the great redwoods whisper to me
little one in your innocence you saw us true
remember the days of your youth
sacred and old they spoke
woman of the dawn now arise
let the natural music wash over you
cleanse your spirit
awaken you to truth
the oceans roll and crash to the shore
its thunderous voice remind me
who I am in this universe
under a spell I'd forgotten
to ward myself of evil
I got lost in the briars of mankind
it's in the gentle places my soul revived
the flowers of the field smiled up at me
swaying easily in the wind
looking on I silently cried
the weeping willow cried with me
Mother Nature witness her child so forlorn
hush now she sang
as the redwoods took breath
and with a heavy sigh announced she is awake
the flowers rejoiced
singing melodies of the soul
the winds came and caressed my brow
while the sun tenderly kissed my face
in harmony with nature
I knew inside myself all would be well
