A Conundrum

Illusions
Visions dreamed and enveloped in fantasies
Parodies and tragedies played on stage
From page to page you keep on writing
Reading and feeding
Thriving on the idea
This will come alive
But
You’re disengaged

This is not reality
This is a game you shouldn’t play any more
You made her up
And sold your soul to her
You created her
And harm yourself so she’ll notice it
You hurt yourself to prove
You’re worthy of her…

And for what?

This delusion of yours
It’s odd
It’s flawed from origin and foundation
The realization that she’ll never in a million years
Become real like the way you want it to be
The way you believe
She’s just a trace of that vivid dream
Your friend, your angel
Your saving grace
Wanting what you can’t have

It’s time to wake up
And realize that
In and out of your mind
Everything is all encompassing and nonexistent
Everything up to this point
Has been the design of your own creation
Conceived out of lust
You’ve spoken in riddles and innuendos
Allusions and insinuations
You’ve become a conundrum yourself
Out of focus and fading away
