And now 'tis done
I am poured upon your page
my body crudely nailed
to the guts of your Pc
(tablet or phone)
Dissect me if you want
Go figure on messages I missed
or see them as I intended
My truth is always what you find
My words are fools dancing
as they flirt with the life you give them
I'm just a soul
blown on the wind of whimsy
My thoughts
may settle in your head for a moment
although my hope is
they might somehow
linger longer
in your heart

Nice little poem. The language is an improvement over your previous piece regarding love, and the first verse is an absolute stunner; if that verse were a woman, it would be Joan Crawford, at 29, in a bikini posing beside the beach and seductively smoking a cigarette.

That's a strange picture you've painted Jack - JC was more of a tongue lasher than a sex siren. I prefer Katherine Hepburn in African Queen any day!

That's ironic; I was initially going to go with Hepburn for that metaphor but then chose Crawford instead. I'm not very good at pinpointing female sex sirens, but Crawford always seemed quite beautiful to me. Her long black hair and pure white skin just oozed seduction. Even if she was a cruel, narcissistic, child beating harridan.

Thanks Priya - and my apologies I almost forgot you - I got quite carried away there (on a beach with Jack, Joan Crawford and Katherine Hepburn)!

Yes, that's my favourite line too, JD - thanks for taking the time to comment. You have contributed to my hopes that one day I can write a poem where every line is as good as that one!

Seems to love your 'fool words dancing'.
I'm more partial to

because when reading your poems, I may not always find what you've placed there but I usually find something.
