melancholy's garden
sadness entwines with my soul
wrapping her arms around me...melancholy
she sits with a stillness looking tentatively at me
her big blue eyes swallow today's smiles
whispers on the breeze say she is with me for the day
shadowing my steps with her blueness
I outpace her among the forget me knots
where I hear her chant...he loves you not
my heart sinks at her refrain
she is wise and knows all his games
gently she brushes my hand
singing we will wander the gardens together
little daisies will cheer you
inside this sanctuary, we are at peace
melancholy and I sit side by side at the fountain
watching on as the waters cascade
quietly my tears begin to flow
my soul tells melancholy she can go home
she brought the blue truth with her
my tears signify my acceptance
with no more unruly feelings running wild
she leaves my gardens

A nice telling of a melancholy tale. One hopes it's just a tale and not a melancholy muse.

*hugs you*
She's with me now, but I can't push the tears. Your poem brought a little sunshine though.. 💙💛...that perhaps I need to write about her too..and cry. I hate writing feely stuff...

Dear B,
The bare naked and pain staking ache of the Melancholy muse telling us the truth is gut wrenching. This piece has such a soft touch to that ache. What a lovely way you made this flow!
