Living In Isolation

She yearns to be free
From his world
Of condemnation
She has dreams
And goals she
Wishes to reach
He punishes her
Then destroys them
Her desire is Only
To live in peace
In a world where
He’s always waging war
She struggles
To be freed from
His shackles and chains
Of humiliation and insults
Degrading her further
Into shame
She mentally escapes
Into a world
Of her own
Where she feels free
To relax putting her
Guards finally down
Shes finally safe
Safe enough to smile
Her dreams are alive
Her goals within reach
She’s making her own way
Her life is worth living
Her eyes are bright
Her smile is beaming
She’s suddenly
Blindsided by his
Hatred jolting
Her back into
This harsh reality
Living in isolation
