Feathery Dreams Butterfly Kisses
It popped up in my memories; a simple calendar day.
I met you 11 years ago, in a most peculiar way.
Our connection was instant, as if we'd met before.
It was so quietly, that you knocked upon my heart's door.
Last week I kept seeing butterflies, flitting just out of my reach. Feathers appeared multiple times, right in front of my feet.
I smiled and thought of you, wishing you were here.
But with each butterfly and feather, you showed me you were near.
Trying to get my attention, you wanted me to know,
you knew the week was special, and that you love me so.
While your angel wings were ready, I just wasn't through.
Although you're gone, I'll never stop loving you.
You smile lovingly from your photograph, sitting by my bed.
And when I sleep, your memory flits silently through my head.
Even though you're gone, my heart you still hold.
And we'll meet again someday, on a shore of sparkling gold.
