In Shadow of Enlightenment
Glass tears falling away from
see through shades of grey.
As eyes shatter over smiles
that never seem to fade.
Kneeling upon jaded knees the
hardened ground becomes apparent.
The sky turns cheek and I
quickly come apart.
Bearing this withered soul
awaiting raptures idle embrace.
Something stirs where nothing
holds precedence.
A shallow reckoning that leaves
me craving some remiss.
Satiating an innate hole that
voids a better half.
It's my pseudo-reflection that's
left behind once I've gone.
Never to flee this portentous dream.
