MAYA at 4 and a 1/2
She sat cross legged on the floor, quietly
gazing at a princess figurine which she held
with both hands.
"Maya, what are you thinking when you look
so closely at the princess?"
"I want to be a princess" she simply said.
I said, "Mom, Dad, and PapaDan
all feel like she's a princess to us".
"Yeah, I know".
That's all.

Get her "The Little Princess" movie, Danny. And tell her that "All girls are [Princesses]! Even if they live in tiny old attics, even if they dress in rags, even if they aren't pretty, or smart, or young, they're still princesses - all of us!"

She's seen every princess movie multiple times & more. Unfortunately, i'll be lucky get a few day a year with her due to "mental illness", Her Mom's that is. Started with a post-partum depression & blossomed into a whopper on Borderline Personality Disorder. She was raised by her mother with mostly absent Dad, & Mom (Alona's) was (is, but less so) crazy as batshit. When a was a child, mMom was involved in real estate scams with some rather rough 'partners'. Supposedly just narrowly avoided a bullet in the head, or time in prison. Heck of a setting for a child to grow up in. Eric seems to be dealing well with it, he wouldnt tell me if he wasn't. To top it off, Maya looks amazingly like Leah at her age. More heartbreak in the making. Supposedly it's not just me that she doesnt want to stay more than a day or two, but any of his out-of-town step-family either. Yeah, well life is suckingly tough.
PS: i did tell her she was a princess to me and her Mom and Dad.But forgot after it got rolling.
