a flash of light at the corner of his vision
something snaps
chest tightens, mouth dry
out of control
raw anger flooding his body
strength he didn’t know he had
his ears ring
he lunges forward determined to punish
too late

Haha! My father always said, "He who hesitates loses."
If I've learned anything over the past year it's about being bullied. It's also about standing up for myself, not taking the crap, fighting back, and not owing anyone an explanation for the decisions I make for my own life.
