Milk comes from cows…
goats… sheep… or camels…
or any of many
thousands of mammals
If it comes from a cashew a bean or a nut... it's not milk at all…and it's
trying to elbow its way into dairy... where it's got no business being
Give the bleeding substitutes their own shelf... with the rest of the nuts
By the way...did you know that one hundred grams or (3.53 ounces) of cashew "milk" has 553 calories…
and 44 grams of fat…
while 100 grams of milk from a cow has only 61 calories...
and 3.3 GM's of fat?
How's that for a point to ponder..?

Oh dear - I'm pondering it - I make 'cashew milk' fresh every day by whizzing up cashew nuts in water for my cereals and coffee. But then again I've been a steady 70kgs for 40+ years and never put on weight - not sure if the fat content though is good, bad or neutral for me.

Being vegan celiac (try cooking a meal with that diet...), my sister isn't allowed the dairy versions of milk. However, she consoles herself with the fact that cashew milk is "the Xanax of nature." Or as she sometimes calls it, the crack of nuts. I love little factual bits of information. That bit at the bottom was fascinating. And loved the humour in this one! Always a fan of giggling. :-)
