If there were other intelligent life on our planet, whatever their intentions they'd probably choose a special group of humans to sign up as front-men for their hidden agenda, and pay them in terms of deep (if warped) human desires.

If another intelligent species were watching us, I always rather think they'd avoid us. The damage we do to each other...it's shameful. But this universe is so incredibly vast, you're right...we likely would never bump into each other in the halls.
