All-American Bar-B-Que

This is the part of American history that I detest; however, the nation was raw over the 'unprovoked bombing of Pearl Harbor.  It was a Japanese Admiral who said, “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.”    
    
The depth of that terrible resolve was unknown to even us, until it happened.  The 'detention' camps on our own land were also inhumane. Innocents are the true victims of any war.

Yup.....when we dropped the "big ones", Japan was pretty much whooped. Previously, the fire bombing of Japanese cities had already kicked their ass. The Japanese parliament & royal family were ready to throw it in, but tha Samurai class which controlled the military, insisted there would be no surrender until everything Japanese was wiped off the face of the earth, (honor!). The non-military govt folks were subject to assassination if they pissed off the Samurai.  Withh the war in Europe over, the Russians were going to invade Japan from the east while we came in from the west. That woulda put the kibosh on Japan. We just wanted to play with our new toys (The big ones) to see what they could do in "real life", show off our machisimo to Russia & not have the Russians steal any of our thunder by allowing them to help.  The bullshit that using the big bombs was gonna save "millions" of American lives, was utter propaganda, & nothing else. The Japs was already toast & if not for the Samurai thugs at the top, the war would've been over many months earlier. Despite the fact that Empero H. was considered God, the Samurai were not gonna give a chance of anyone ruining their "honor".... so, we had a great excuse to use our new toys....not once, but twice on an already defeated foe. The bombs were 2 very different mechanisms, so we had to have a "real-time" comparison, right? Ha.
