stardust

starlight visible only in darkness
wraps its glory around me
jewels reserved to crown the universes
adorn my brokenness

forlorn in humanity
I trace our immortal lineage
back to the beginning
bending time I see you now
as you first appeared all those eons ago

lonely stardust I ache--
with the want of you
but my mortal coil is wrapped tightly around me
you vanish from my vision

I reach out to touch--
with lingering sensations
of our becoming
then you withdraw
and I'm left with a hole

my soul seeks you throughout the universes
in your private places
in anger I say I've evolved and don't need you
then I pray as a child
so I can see you once more

in the first revolution of time I was your woman
my heart is humbled
two immortal forces become one
a cosmic one night stand
by morning light you'll be gone
