the hidden pages
broken trust... love built on lies
you told your share but I didn't want to let go
I knew the truth...of you
I told lies of my own to keep my heart happy
now here we are twenty years later
our great castle of omission is coming crashing down
it's your turn now...you refuse to leave me
I know it's time to get out before the darkness crushes us
looking back I can see how things led to this
but while I was looking the other way
resentment was growing
the life choked out of our marriage
you always had an eye for the ladies
infidelity your weakness
your ego wanted younger and prettier
now you're a man of age
you want to hide in my womanhood
the tables have turned but it isn't for revenge
my body betrays me with a hunger you can't keep up with
twilight decorates my guilt
little fractured thoughts...break me
I still love you but realize it's unfair to lie to you
so I will go my own way
with hopes you never discover the lies I've hidden
the truth of things would break you bitterly
in the end I want nothing to do with that
