Oh what I'd give for an ounce of respect
I know there isn't much left
I'd even settle for some relief
Here, take some of my grief
Perhaps a bit of appreciation
Spare a crumb of validation


I'll gladly trade you some guilts and regrets
For a sip of happiness
What I'd do for a simple smile
Maybe then I could sleep for a while
