'Patient 18' was his name, or the name they gave
not much else was known about him  
or where he went since, it only said 'UCLA'  
with the 'year of our Lord 1961'  
on the tape.  
 
the pseudonym they gave  
to protect his family and identity  
when he was just trying to keep his sanity.  
 
'UCLA - Psychiatric and Theater Department', filmed in the new wing  
of the University  
the year was 1961.  
 
this was a dated video and study  
could have been filmed for a bad early seventies suspense movie  
but it wasn't.  
 
from back when electroshock therapy, Lithium and lobotomies were all the rage  
 
where is he now?  
did he grow up?  
or 'grow out of it'?  
or was he grown up?  

'I know people don't like me', he said  
'because of the way I appear and the way I sit differently  
when i play the piano.'  
 
did he ultimately commit suicide?  
earth school just too intense a ride  
erased from the pages of history  
save for that video  
and the students that were the cameo.  
 
he wanted to play piano  
yet some say, he couldn't play a lick  
was it just mere delusion, psychosis  
coming from a diagnosed schizophrenic  
the byproduct of an even more ever insane society  
a delusion making his mind tick ....
