Night clubs, movies,
neon signs and rubies,
The stars shined like rhinestones in the sky.
Smooth laughter, cheap perfume
soft lies, electric bloom,
cigarette smoke filled up the room.

There is something so voyeuristic about this piece; it pulled me in and held me ready at attention. The repetition is lyrical in nature and wanted me humming some sort of underbellied tune while reading it.
