When love is dying I should have sent roses
But you're a dream come true
You found me washed up
despairs shoreline
barely recognisable broken
a mess
fire all but smothered
handful of embers
the light somehow remained
does it ever really fade
those born of such?
Don't know
Yet for some reason, You see something
in me, in all those scattered pieces,
that you reach out
offer a hand
perhaps, it's that you have known
similar heartaches,
seen.. what would break most
recognise a kindred 'you'
Piece by piece, remove another brick
in the walls, I'd carefully built
trust, that kind smile you flash, says..
this will be done correctly,
the utmost care
at your own pace,
fast or as slow... as you need
poets have died for less
Something.. about your eyes
beauty behind it all
I want to seek refuge, there
entwined,
there enthralled,
at least.. for a tiny while
I see another 'me' there
So......
here's the keys to my fortress
I trust you
I'm in your tender loving hands
You found me washed up
despairs shoreline
barely recognisable broken
a mess
fire all but smothered
handful of embers
the light somehow remained
does it ever really fade
those born of such?
