Without Trust
From the beginning,
you splashed too many grand promises out at me
Promises
that you didn't have time to prove,
if they were for me,
Or meant for another
that you were hiding secretly
I remember your innocent smiles,
a lying disguise you wore well
Your wondering personality,
I was foolish to dance with you
You couldn't hold onto strong emotions
Your moves acted interrupted
You were self absorbed,
you were a fish caught in your own net
Drowning in my sea,
with no respect for the water
I couldn't sort the repressed words
you murmured
You spoke less to me,
snapped at me more,
like a wild animal
I was blind
couldn't see the anger
caught up in the corner of your eye
I didn't sense the unpredictability
in your smile
I had a wishful eye for you
that I couldn't hide
Was lost in innocent trust
I didn't sense betrayal
was creeping up into your corner
I remember asking you to sing for me,
But you couldn't carry a note
The rhythm you owned
was not your own,
it was dark,
empty,
and cold
Cold as deep water
that I couldn't swim
When I opened up a tunnel,
without light,
to let you in
You crept in like a intruder
Who wished evil upon me
One who tried to abduct me,
rape me,
condemn me
You had a evil eye for me,
used it to combat your responses
I welcomed you too soon
You shocked me,
my fear imposed a bitter silence,
that I try to break free of,
As I look back on your deception.
you splashed too many grand promises out at me
Promises
that you didn't have time to prove,
if they were for me,
Or meant for another
that you were hiding secretly
I remember your innocent smiles,
