Through The Eyes of a Child

Oh, but to see through the eyes of a child
To behold all the wonders they see
With inquisitive minds and open hearts
With the confidence to be ~ all they can be

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh, but to see through the eyes of a child
With a child’s clarity
With the ability to behold things as they are
Without prejudice and bigotry
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

To see again, through the eyes of a child
To view life ~ optimistically
Where dreams are allowed to flow unchecked
Where minds are still open and free

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The eyes of a child are open wide
When they look at things, they see ~
Not only that which is in front of them
They behold life’s possibilities
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A child’s uncluttered growing mind
Can view life with common sense
If we could but see through the eyes of a child
We could recapture life’s innocence
