fingers to toes
I can hardly move my hand
This is not the life I planned
Crippled by an unseen
Element
My arms feel like lead
I can hardly move from my bed
Voices scream in my head
"Can't get a job"
"Have no friends"
"You will fail at everything"
My legs hurt too
Click when I try to move
I want to be a writer
A poet
A lecturer showing the way to others
A therapist to the lost and self-harmers
I watch my toes wiggle
Kind of giggle when they do
A sign from God perhaps
That life is worth going on for
From your fingers to your toes
Let's explore the world... once I can get up
This is not the life I planned
Crippled by an unseen
Element
My arms feel like lead
I can hardly move from my bed
Voices scream in my head
"Can't get a job"
"Have no friends"
"You will fail at everything"
My legs hurt too
Click when I try to move
I want to be a writer
A poet
A lecturer showing the way to others
A therapist to the lost and self-harmers
I watch my toes wiggle
Kind of giggle when they do
A sign from God perhaps
That life is worth going on for
From your fingers to your toes
Let's explore the world... once I can get up
