Zeal To Know Your Demons

You can hide from me, but not that well
I always seek the truth behind your eyes
No matter what comes from your lips
I know your demons, and they cannot lie

For we all have this darkness, love
An attraction to destroy, to sabotage
Because we know not what we do, but
It is the darkness we try to camouflage

We are scared to accept our defects
Thinking we are all of lesser flesh somehow
So just show me what you’re capable of
I promise, I’ll help make your demons bow

Destruction is what makes it all make sense
If we can’t tear it down, what will we build?
If we hate what we’ve become, then that’s okay
We can crush it, make it of our own free will

I care, my dear, for what you’re trying to do
So don’t you dare hide your demons from me
If I search your eyes and see into your soul
I want to see everything that there is to see

If it’s messy, or dirty, or downright broken
I won’t care, we all are, we’re all just dreaming
Hoping for a better way, but this I’ll tell you...
I’ve really got zeal to know all your demons
