In The Darkness

Such a long time in the dark
Searching for a light that doesn't really exist
Trying desperately to keep head above water
And mind whole and unbroken
Dragged down by daily worries and anxieties
That take your mood and dive bomb it
Into oblivion
Still fighting but starting to realize that it is a
Losing battle that I fight
And with the realization comes a deep sense of doom
What does the future hold
Where do I go from here
I'm lost in my own mind and feeling like I'm being pulled
Into a deep dark place where the light cannot shine
Sentenced to wander in darkness
Until the end finally comes
Will I fight then
Or welcome the end with open arms?
It's hard to make that call
