Skies Blue and of Trees

"Where has God gone?" asks a lone, orphaned child; abandoned by the one world, only known. "I was good and believed, look at skies blue and trees. How can anyone see He's not Thee?" Then, just of ten, when this world came to end and forever was gone, greens of blue. And, in that one second his life blew away, never again to be seen...But, the remnants of one heart, held the remnants of one flame, though It flickered with the last of Hope's tears. He dreamed and he prayed and he Hoped, without call. For, all was now dead and befallen. But, to this day, that flame remains true, though the heart has grown old and frail. And I Hope, once again, I will see...One world, known of blue skies and trees.

An autobiographical essay. Even through these many years, I specifically remember the exact time and places these thoughts took hold. So entrenched are they in my heart, so burned into soul, they will never leave, for this is me.
