A Twist of A Vampire’s Fate IV

Footsteps in The Dark
DRACON’S CASTLE
Sighisoara, Romania

Naynina walked down the third flight of staircase. She felt as if she was walking on air. She looked down at her Cartier watch.

“Darn it, I’ve missed dinner.”

Professor Peeples looked up as Naynina’s foot graced the last step.

“There you are my dear.”

Everyone looked in the direction of the staircase.

Dracon turned from conversing with two male students. His eyes traveled up Naynina’s body as Professor Peeples escorted her into the Grand Sitting Room.

Naynina looked around. She looked back at Professor Peeples.

“Please excuse my absence. I was more fatigue than I anticipated.”
“We were all just getting acquainted.”

Professor Peeples cruised his eyes over Naynina’s physique. Her silk white dressed molded her voluptuous frame. He looked down at her breast nipples straining against the soft material. He glanced at her full lips and then up into her eyes.

Damn he wished she was not his student.

Dracon witnessed where Professor Peeples’ eyes strayed. He read the guilt of physical lust within the core of his inner thoughts.

“Excuse me gentlemen.”

Dracon walked across the Grand Sitting Room. He reached Professor Peeples and Naynina.

“Are you alright Naynina? I’ve noticed you did not join the others to dine.”

Naynina refused to look up. Her skin began tingling behind the voice silently stoking her skin.

“I…”

Naynina looked up. Her eyes sunk into the current depth of Dracon’s hypnotic dark-brown eyes.
Too good looking and most likely arrogant.

“I will get something to eat much later.”
“I usually appease my appetite in the midnight hour as well, Naynina.”

Dracon looked deep into Naynina’s eyes.

What is this man doing to my mind? Seducing my body with his eyes. And where is the thong she thought she had put on much earlier. Dammit, his eyes are pinning my existence giving me no room to look away.

Dracon assumed Naynina was trying to control the unknown feeling traveling within the stream of her veins.
Veins he will ultimately drain leaving her on brink of this world and one step closer to immortality.

Professor Peeples looked from Naynina and then to Dracon. He looked back at Naynina. He cleared his throat.

“I will assign an escort for you this evening.”

Naynina blinked her eyes. She turned to face Professor Peeples.

“I’m sorry, what were you saying Professor Peeples.”
“Must you remember Miss. Polanski; you are the sole responsibility of the university in and out these walls.”
“Professor Peeples. The gentlemen who I will submerge my company in, is a professor of Babes-Bolyai University. He and I have an interest in vampirism. I’m sure one night to extract my company to gain insight about vampires could be excused.”
“Miss. Polanski, I will feel much safe if...”
“Professor Peeples, I will be Miss. Polanski’s escort for the evening.”
“That would be an excellent idea, Professor Constantine.”

Dracon looked over at Naynina.

“It will be my pleasure.”
“With all due respect Professor Constantine. Please have my student back here at eight o’clock sharp.”
“That I shall. In the meantime. If I am needed, Mordecai will know how to contact me, and please treat my castle as if this is everyone’s home away from home.”
“Thank you, Professor, and we shall.”

Professor Peeples leaned over.

“I saw a vintage bottle of Scotch in the solarium.”
“Help yourself, privately of course.”
“Certainly.”
“Miss. Polanski, I am ready to escort you to Professor Tabarca’s residence.”
“He will be at my door any minute.”
“He’s already been advised I will be your escort for the evening.”
“But how…”
“I will explain it to you in the car.”

Dracon grabbed a hold of Naynina’s hand. He tenderly squeezed it.
Naynina squeezed Dracon’s hand back in return.

VASILE TABARCA’S RESIDENCE
Sighisoara, Romania

Vasile pulled his vehicle from around the circular driveway. He body was plummeting from deprivation of Fairy Blood. He wanted to be the vampire responsible for turning Naynina. Giving her a second chance of immortality.

After researching Naynina’s history. There was a very beautiful mortal woman name Naynina, who centuries ago was once betrothal to his arch enemy, Dracon. Unfortunately, she was killed during a plot to overthrow the Ventrue Clan. She was evidently turned by Dracon’s fangs, and then resurrected into a life of immortality. Word has it, the love of his life ran off with someone from the Lasambro clan; only to be enslaved by an ancestry vampire of the Tremere clan, his clan. Generating bad blood between the two clans throughout centuries.

“Remarkable woman with a remarkable history.”

DRACON’S CASTLE
Sighisoara, Romania

Dracon opened the door of his BMW SUV. He assisted Naynina up into his vehicle.

“Thank you.”
“You have and much later you will.”
“Presumptuous.”
“I am, with no excuses or regrets.”

Dracon pushed the door close. He walked around the driver side of his vehicle and opened the door. He unbuttoned his suit jacket and slid behind the steering wheel. He pulled the door close.
Naynina looked at Dracon’s side profile. She reached out and caressed his cheek.

Dracon pivoted his face. He kissed Naynina in the center of her palm. He captured her eyes.

“You are going to be very easy to please.”
And to bleed he thought.
“If I continue to do this, I guess you’re right.”

Naynina smiled. She dropped her hand.
Dracon outlined Naynina’s lips. He cupped her chin and reached in; he slowly kissed her lips. He gradually inched his face back.

“Hello Naynina.”
“Why do you sound as if you’re just meeting me?”
“In a way it is.”

Dracon inserted the key inside the ignition and started the vehicle.
