Stormy

you entered as an unexpected emotional storm
so it hurt a little when you saw me as beautiful
touching my scars gently
kissing the soul of me

I wasn't ready to feel
did you know I never cry?
the taste of your tears was my undoing
I witnessed a woman in all her power
lying vulnerable in repose
talking to me thoughtfully

you know I could fall in love
but my fear would never let me
the loss of you should you get too close
would be the end of my hopes
and would crush all my dreams

still, quietly with your truth, you undress me
a woman warrioress in all her ferocity
breaking me down so very tenderly
in spite of myself, I rise to greet your touch

until you spoke to my darkness
I didn't realize I was so hungry
for the touch of a woman like no other
one of great power and understanding

woman to woman
you make me feel inside of the numb
I see my reflection in your smile
and she is glorious
looking through your eyes
I think I could learn to love myself

my beautiful Queen you shine
I wanted you to know
from my heart to yours
with love Brenda ❤
