Inari- help me
I, a lone wolf lost in snow
there's blood on my coat
the wind howls mercilessly
I ask, will you guide me home?

my paws are cracked, dry and torn
red prints on white land
fading with the setting sun
I'm praying you will hear me

The imagery of the blood on snow is very stark, raw, and real. Excellent metaphor for the winters of life.
